  • Bendakaya chopped – 1 cup
  • Onions chopped – 1 cup
  • Tomatoes Squeezed- 1 cup
  • Red gram - ½ cup
  • Green Chilies -5
  • Red chilli powder – 1 spoon
  • Oil- 4 spoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric - 1pinch
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tea spoon
  • Chenna dal- 1 tea spoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon
  • Red dry chillies (broken) - 3
  • Black gram (urad dal-husked) - 1 tea spoon
  • Curry leaves- 10
  • Hing – pinch
  1. Give pressure cook of 3 whistles to the Red gram.
  2. In a pan add Onions, Green Chilies, Tomato, Tamarind pulp, cooked Red gram, Red chilli powder, Turmeric, Salt, water and Bendakaya chopped.
  3. Boil this pan till it becomes bit thick and all the vegetables get cooked.
  4. Take pan pour oil and heat it. Add Mustard seeds, Chenna dal, Cumin seeds, Black gram, Red dry chillies, Curry leaves, hing and Turmeric into oil and fry them.
  5. Add this to the boiling Pappu Charu. Now Bendakaya Pappu Charu is ready to serve.
