Rich in iron and zinc, these whole wheat and oatmeal pancakes don't compromise on taste.
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp fruit salt
  • 1 tsp oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • Other ingredients
  • 2 tsp butter for cooking
  • For serving
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup orange segments
  1. Combine all the ingredients except the fruit salt in a bowl with enough water. Whisk into smooth batter.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan and grease it lightly with a little butter.
  3. Add the fruit salt to the batter and mix gently.
  4. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan to make a pancake of 150 mm (6") diameter, cooking on both sides with a little butter till golden brown.
  5. Repeat with the remaining batter to make 5 more pancakes.
  6. Serve hot with honey and oranges segments.
