Mooli Moong Dal is a traditional Rajasthani dal, made with mooli and moong dal, Radish adds sharp and pungent accents in this bland moong dal.
  • Radish, cut into pieces 3 Numbers
  • Ghee 1 Tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds ½ Teaspoons
  • Green cardamom 3 Numbers
  • Cinnamon, small pieces 3 Numbers
  • Cloves 4 Numbers
  • Red chillies 3 Numbers
  • Garlic 2 Numbers
  • Ginger slices 6 Tablespoons
  • Onion 1 Numbers
  • Salt 1 0
  • Green chillies 4 Numbers
  • Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoons
  • Red Chilli powder ½ Teaspoons
  • Coriander powder ¼ Teaspoons
  • Kasuri methi ¼ Teaspoons
  • Water 2 Cup
  • Tur dal, boiled 1 Cup
  • Jaggery 1 Piece
  • Coriander leaves 1 Bunch
  1. Peel and cut radish into pieces and keep aside. 2. Heat some ghee in a pan and when it gets hot, add cumin seeds, green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, red chillies, and bay leaf. Saute until you get a nice aroma. 3. Add garlic, ginger slices, finely chopped onions, little salt and fry till the onions turn golden in color. 4. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and radish pieces. Mix well. 5. Add little kasuri methi and water. Mix, cover the pan with lid and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes until the radish is done. 6. Add in the boiled and mashed tur dal, a small piece of jaggery, chopped coriander leaves, mix and bring it to a boil. Serve with hot, roti, chapatti etc.
