This fruit and oat porridge with low fat milk makes a hearty and high fibre breakfast that helps to keep a close check on blood cholesterol levels. Have this daily and make a great beginning everyday.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups corn flakes
  • 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 4 tbsp wheat bran
  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence
  • 3 tbsp sultanas (kishmish)
  • For serving:
  • low fat milk
  • a few pieces of chopped apples
Instructions
  1. Combine the oats and wheat bran and lightly toast them in a non-stick pan over a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Cool completely, add the cornflakes, vanilla essence and sultanas. Mix well.
  3. Store in an air-tight container.
  4. For serving, place ΒΌ of the muesli into an individual bowl with the apples and pour the milk on top.
  5. Serve immediately.
