A popular snack enjoyed by both children and adults. Can also be serves as TV snack.
  • 6 buns
  • 1 large can (450 grams) baked beans
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 to 3 green chillies, chopped
  • ¾ cup Steamed Rice or boiled spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • melted butter
  • salt to taste
  • For the covering
  • 1¼ cups White Sauce (For Baking)
  • 4 tbsp grated cooking cheese
  • a little butter
  1. Divide the buns horizontally into 2.
  2. Scoop out the centres.
  3. Brush allover with melted butter.
  4. Arrange on a baking tray and bake in a hot oven at 400°F for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat the ghee in a vessel and fry the onion for 1 minute. Add the green chillies, baked beans, cooked rice, tomato ketchup and salt and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Fill the bun centres with this mixtrure.
  7. Spread a little white sauce on each bun. Sprinkle with cheese and dot with butter. Bake in hot oven at 400°F for 15 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
You can also make tasty burgers using other fillings as follows :
Use a filling of pizza sauce, sprinkle plenty of cheese, put a slice of capsicum on top and bake.
Use a filling of white sauce with plenty of cheese, a few drops of Worcestershire sauce and a little prepared mustard.
Use a filling of curried beans made by frying in 1 tablespoonof ghee, 1 chopped onion, 2 cloves crushed garlic-
and a little chilli powder and then add ing bakes beans and salt to taste.
