Smoothies are a great option for a quick breakfast on the go, plus they're a great way to use up ripe bananas. You can also peel, chop and freeze ripe bananas so you always have them on standby for an afternoon energy boost.
Ingredients
  • Banana, apricot & mango
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • Handful dried apricots
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled, sliced
  • 200g natural yoghurt (or 100ml apple juice for a dairy-free smoothie)
  • Banana, oat & fig
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 fresh or dried figs
  • 1 cup (250ml) milk
  • Handful oats
  • 1 tbs almonds
  • 2 tsp honey
  • Banana & berry
  • 1 ripe banana
  • Handful frozen berries (such as raspberries or blueberries)
  • 3 tsp honey
  • 300ml milk
Instructions
  1. Peel and break up the bananas, then add to a blender with the rest of the ingredients. Blend until smooth. If you like your smoothie thinner, add a dash of water, milk or juice to loosen it up. Divide between 2 tall glasses and serve.
