  • ToorDal - half cup
  • Tamarind Paste - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric - Half tsp
  • Tomato -1 large
  • Mustard Seeds - half tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - half tsp
  • Veg. Oil/Ghee - 2 Tbsps
  • Chopped Coriander - 2 tsps
  • Green Chilli - 3
  • Hing - pinch
  • Salt To taste
  • Yogurt - 2 Cups
  1. Wash toor dal and cook it until it becomes tender and soft.
  2. Heat oil/ghee in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds. When mustard seeds start cracking add hing .
  3. Add chopped tomato and green chilli and fry till tomato becomes tender.
  4. Add tamarind paste ,turmeric, salt and cooked dal. Add a little water(about ½ to 1 cup). Let it boil for 10 minutes .
  5. Add chopped coriander.
  6. Let the Dal mixture cool for 30 minutes. Add yogurt and mix well.
  7. Now the soup is ready to serve.
